The Best Progressive Rock Albums 2011

Premettendo che tutti gli album qui postati sono essenziali, procedo alla presentazione di alcuni titoli, non perchè necessariamente migliori di altri, ma perchè, magari, hanno qualche peculiarità che li contraddistingue.

Comincio intanto ad elencare alcuni album veramente validi di gruppi all'esordio discografico.

Molto interessanti gli album degli italiani Ske, Alta Via ed Egonon, rispettivamente dal titolo "1000 Autunni", "Girt Dog" e "Risveglio", ottimi gli l'esordi degli inglesi Gandalf's Fist con l'album "The Master And The Monkey" e degli statunitensi Herd Of Instict con l'album dal titolo "Omonimo", da segnalare anche il lavoro degli spagnoli Ignatius con il gradevolissimo album dal titolo "Light From The Deep". 

Ma l'esordio più straordinario del 2011 è quello dei polacchi Tune, l'album "Lucid Moments" rimarrà negli annali della storia del progressive rock, la produzione e il missaggio sono eccellenti, tutti gli strumenti si esaltano in maniera distinta e la fisarmonica di 'Kowalski', strumento piuttosto inusuale nel prog, originale ed onnipresente a celebrare ogni passaggio strumentale e canoro, il cantante 'Krupski', che a parer mio non ha nulla da invidiare a nessuna delle voci più famose, con la sua notevole estensione vocale, si fa scivolare tra sussurri, risate, narrazioni e urla come se nulla fosse, aggiungendo magia alla già ragguardevole espressione strumentale.

Non vi stancherete mai di ascoltare questo capolavoro. 

Per quanto riguarda le conferme, quest'anno sono stati veramente tanti gli album di buona fattura.

Ne nominerò soltanto qualcuno in prima battuta, conscio del fatto che tutti quelli che ho pensato di inserire in questa mia personale classifica sono postati qui sotto.

Intelligente e maturo "Grace For Drowing", secondo lavoro solista del frontman dei 'porcupine Tree' Steven Wilson, 83 minuti di Psychedelic Prog con un eccezionale cast di strumentisti.

Ottime le riproposizioni di: Discipline - "To Shatter All Accord", Phideaux - "Snowtorch", The Tangent - "Comm", dell'inesauribile  Neal Morse - "Testimony Two" capace di migliorarsi  ogni anno pubblicando l'ennesimo capolavoro, dei Magenta - "Chamaleon" e dei Magic Pie - "The Suffering Joy" che continuano a pubblicare album in linea con quanto di buono avevano fatto negli anni precedenti ed ancora, Yes, Agents Of Mercy, Proto Kaw, Beardfish, Glass Hammer, Wobbler, 

Steve Hackett etc...etc...etc...etc.........
