The Best Progressive Rock Albums 1978
Il 1978 non è un anno felice per il progressive rock, comincia un lento declino, specie dove era nato e nei paesi dove meglio si era sviluppato, mi riferisco, oltre agli UK anche a Germania, Francia e Italia. Il Punk e la New Wave avevano preso il sopravvento, complice il cambio di rotta di alcuni importanti gruppi che ne avevano fatto la storia, vedi: Genesis ed i nostri PFM, BMS e Le Orme. In realtà, però il progressive non era morto, covava oltre che negli UK (approfondiremo in seguito) ed addirittura cresceva in alcuni paesi europei ed oltre oceano, con quello che potremmo definire Tardo Prog.
I dischi qui sotto consigliati, sono comunque di ottima fattura e ben rappresentano il genere che noi amiamo.
I Genesis pubblicano "And Then There Were Three" , senza Hackett, questo può essere considerato il penultimo album che abbraccia ancora il progressive. Ancora in evidenza i gruppi statunitensi con due meravigliosi album: "Cathedral - Stained Glass Stories " e " Babylon - Babylon ". Da mettere in evidenza anche gli indonesiani "Abbhama" gli svedesi "Kaipa" e gli Spagnoli "Atila". Ovviamente, tutti gli album, qui, da me consigliati sono ben fatti e ben rappresentano il Progressive Rock.
