Io mi sono procurato questo gioiellino Nipponico e non sono rimasto per nulla deluso. Questi ragazzi, veri fan dei Genesis, hanno saputo miscelare il tipico sound anglosassone con i colori orientali, ed il  risultato è stato stupefacente. CONSIGLIATO VIVAMENTE A VOI TUTTI APPASSIONATI E SEMPRE ALLA RICERCA, SPERO COME ME,  DI CHICCHE ORIGINALI.

Jean Claude Vincent è in realtà lo pseudomino di Jean Claude Pognant, socio e fondatore dell'etichetta Crypto. Con l'aiuto di alcuni musicisti della stessa etichetta ha prodotto questo "Lettre Au Passè" unico leggendario album che contiene nove tracce del sofisticato stile teatrale degli Ange e con la (e questa e la vera sorpresa) splendida voce del produttore Pognant.

Interessante gruppo pre-Babylon. Già in questo "Insect Perfect", si nota la vena sinfonica , inserita nel contesto Punk del periodo. Nei Babylon confluiranno ben tre elementi degli "Helicopter".

Progressive Hard Rock outfit formed by former CHEMICAL ALICE men vocalist Andy Grant and keyboard player Steve Leigh.


A three song cassette emerged in 1982 with the band putting in South England club shows throughout 1983.

Later that same year they also recorded a session for Tommy Vance's BBC Radio 1 "Friday Rock Show".

TAMARISK guitarist Pete Munday would later team up with erstwhile AUNT MAY members drummer Brian Munday and guitarist Lance The Creature, vocalist Grim Fable and former SWEET REVENGE bassist Kid 'Bastard' Kobra to create the 1987 act GRIMM FACTS.

Another TAMARISK guitarist Nick May joined DAGABAND and then JADIS.

May would later figure in QUASAR and appear on THE ENID's 'Sundialer' album.

Keyboard player Steve Leigh joined QUASAR in the late 80's.

Nick May would be announced as joining the reformed KARNATAKA in mid 2005.

E' così , dietro a delle tastiere, che voglio ricordare Jon Lord.
Uno dei migliori tastieristi di sempre, Jon Lord è stato stroncato, lunedì 16 luglio all'età di 71 anni da un tumore al pancreas, dopo aver a lungo lottato contro questa assurda e implacabile malattia.
Jon Lord, era stato, insieme al batterista Jan Paice, il fondatore dei Deep Purple "gruppo che per primo a messo il termine hard davanti a rock", aveva avuto la grande intuizione di collegare il suo organo Hammond ad un amplificatore per chitarra Marshall, ottenendo una timbrica unica, compositore di molti dei brani di successo del gruppo (tutti conosceranno il mitico "Smoke On The Water") è stato un punto di riferimento per tutte le future generazioni di tastieristi essendo stato, fra l'altro, uno dei primi ad unire sapientemente rock e musica classica.
Ti ricorderemo sempre caro Jon, in quanto molti di noi sono cresciuti con te  e con la tua musica.
Con la tua MUSICA resterai sempre.....Qui.

Ottima band Cilena  (nome preso in prestito da un personaggio di Tolkien dal Signore degli Anelli) di Prog sinfonico alla Genesis di "A Trick of the Tail" , ma con un approccio molto personale ed in linea con altre band new progressive degli anni '90.
Il disco è cantato in inglese e nonostante l'autoproduzione, la registrazione è di ottima qualità.
Consiglio algi estimatori del prog sudamericano di procurarsi questo disco.

Suffer and Misery è un eccellente esempio di prog sinfonico. Il gruppo, mette insieme con sapienza, i suoni già collaudati, di , Genesis, Camel e Yes, il risultato è soddisfacente, tastiere e chitarre si inseguono con maestria , mentre basso e batteria (alla Yes) li sostengono per tutta la durata del disco.
Peccato che il disco non sia stato ben sponsorizzato ed è molto difficile da trovare. Chissà, se dopo la pubblicazione di questo post, non cominci a girare qualche vinile su e-Bay.

Sempre alla scoperta di gruppi inglesi che hanno inciso con il loro lavoro e con il loro credo alla rinascita del progressive rock. Anche se in ritardo, rispetto ai loro connazionali , Marillion, IQ, Pendragon Etc..., Gli Ark si sono presentati, nel 1988, al pubblico Progressive, con questo interessante lavoro, in linea con i gruppi "neo prog" più blasonati.
Consigliato l'acquisto, agli amanti del genere.

Lost For Words dei Mach One è una collezione di session in studio e demo registrati a Londra nel 1983 e pubblicati in vinile nello stesso anno. L'album, ottimo esempio della rinascita progressiva, è stato distribuito in tutto il mondo dalla Pinnacle Records e recensito in Sounds, (giornale musicale inglese) di Mary Anne Hobbs ( che più tardi divenne una popolare DJ della BBC radio) e Kerrang, entrambi hanno espresso un giudizio abbastanza critico e approssimativo, senza dare il giusto valore al lavoro del gruppo, ( anche perchè non potevano certamente immaginare quanto il Neo Prog inglese avrebbe influito alla rinascita del Progressive Rock mondiale) che insieme ai più blasonati "Marillion" "IQ" "Pallas" "Pendragon" Etc.......avevano dato una potente sferzata al movimento progressivo.
Raccomando a tutti voi di procurarvi questo splendido "dimenticato" disco.
